Sacred Spaces Tours arranges tours to Greece, Constantinople, and other places that highlight the development of civilizations from the Classical Period through the Byzantine Era up to modernity. Led by a Greek Orthodox priest and a professor who specializes in early Christian studies, the tours are rich in the study of culture, religion, history, and art.

Their website needed to reflect this mission. We built an image rich website that at first glance informs the reader that Sacred Spaces offers more than the average tour, and second invites the reader in for a closer look.

The website blends images and information in ways that do not overwhelm the visitor. LOGOS Web Services categorized the site around the places visited on each tour (these are interchangeable as the tours change) along with a main page describing any upcoming tour. Individual pages include a brief description of the visited site, four to eight images that provide a visual overview, videos when appropriate, an image map with clickable place names, links for more information, an opt-in email list announcing future tours, and more.

Expansion capability has been designed into the site. Visited places can be swapped back and forth as tour destinations change (or new ones are added), a picture gallery that records highlights of previous tours can be added, and blogging capability is designed in for future tours.

Response to the site has been overwhelmingly positive. The aesthetic characteristics of the site reflect the goals and mission of Sacred Spaces Tours, and the functionality, organization, ease of use, and built in expansion capability ensures that the site will serve its purpose for many years to come.
